Jason and Meg

She ducked as the plate smashed against the wall behind her. She looked back, enraged. That had been a wedding present, one of her favorites. It was a plaque with their wedding invitation decoupaged on it. I guess it is a fitting way for it to be broken, she thought wildly as she dove for cover as a regular plate headed for her.
"Goddammit, Jason, you need to stop this so we can talk about it!!" she said.
"There is no need" he said, throwing another plate.
"to talk about anything" another plate.
"ever" plate
"again!" Serving platter.

OK, Meg said to herself. There was no staying then and getting brained. She walked to the bedroom and packed a bag of clothes and a few toiletries, and walked out of the house, telling Jason that she would call him. He just needed some time to cool off. She understood that, since he cheated on her a few months earlier, and what she did was not 1/2 as bad.

She got into her truck and drove over to her friends house, calling on the way over to make sure it was ok that she sleep over. As she spoke into the handsfree mic, she drove over some railroad tracks, bumping over them carefully. Her long brown hair swung with the bumps, and she pushed it out of her face.

She thought to herself, I cannot help who I am. It's not my fault I am attracted to both men and women. Jason knew this about her, and they had discussed this many times. They had come to the conclusion that IF she ever met someone, that he was ok with her fooling around, the one stipulation being that it only be other women, never another man. Well, she had met Stacey a few months ago at the bookstore, and they hit it off. They both knew about the orientation of each other, since they had met was in the Gay Lesbian section of the local Barnes & Noble, and nervously struck up a conversation, and ended up having coffee in the cafe for about 3 hours. She never thought it would lead to them ending up in bed, but things happen.

Stacey had an auburn bob, really cute blue eyes, and a trim figure. She was a little older than Meg, but they both had little experience, it turned out. Neither of them had ever had a relationship with another woman, and both were dating men. They would get together a few times a month, usually at Barnes & Noble and get some books, then sit and talk. Turns out they had a lot in common. They both enjoyed spending time with their boyfriends, and they liked the same music.

A few weeks ago, they ended up at Stacey's place, and they were sitting having coffee and talking about being bisexual, and the experiences they have had, and how they found out they were bisexual. Meg had been with Jason for 2 years, and she didn't tell him, he actually noticed her checking out another woman while they were walking, and he looked at her and he said "You like girls!"

"What?" Meg had said. "I have no idea what you are talking about!" Then she had thought about it, and while she loved him, and had dated a few other men in high school, she always felt an attraction to women. Stacey said she had always known, even thought she was a lesbian in junior high. She went through some phases, dating a girl, then dating a guy, and the kids in school basically made fun of her, but she got through it. Of course in high school, the most she would do was kissing, since it was still new to her.

She got to Stacey's house and they were having lunch when it finally dawned on Meg that it might be over, and she lost it. "Oh, Stacey what have I done? I have ruined everything!" Meg sobbed.

"Meg, you guys had an agreement, and he just didn't know his feelings were going to be so strong!!"

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

"You like girls!" Jason said.

Meg opened her mouth to protest. "I do n.." as she thought about it, her protest died in her throat. "Oh, my God."
It made so much sense. She had been dating Jason since high school, he was her second boyfriend. She did not make friends with women very easy, one of her friends in high school, Kim, turns out she was gay. She had dated guys in high school, never gave any indication she was gay then. Meg often wondered if Kim was hiding it, or if she really did not know. She also wondered what would have happened if her and Kim had messed around if she would be bi or a lesbian right now. Jason was staring at her in amazement. They were at the mall, and he led her over to a bench to sit down.

"Honey, are you ok?" he asked.

She looked around. "I'm fine, I am just thinking about what you said. I really did not put this together until now!" she exclaimed. "How could I not have known?? I'm 23 and married for Christ's sake!! I should have figured this out sooner! What about us?!"

"Now sweetheart, calm down and take this one step at a time." Jason said. They headed home and were talking the whole way. Jason said he didn't have a problem with her sleeping with women, as long as he was kept informed every step of the way, and she didn't leave him. Meg was nowhere near ready to start dating though, was still trying to figure things out.

"I think we need to just let things ruminate for a bit, so I can get used to the idea..." she said.

In the next few months Meg did a lot of soul searching and research on the internet, and found some support groups and message boards. They were a big help, and made her realize that she was indeed bisexual. She made some friends, both here in New Haven and in the online bisexual community. This was something she could not really tell her family, they would be understanding, but she was uncomfortable announcing this news, because it really was none of their business. Behind closed doors, it was no one's business what consenting adults do, whether they be male or female. Since she lived in a college town 3 hours away from her family, she was fairly safe.

Trying to figure out if she wanted or even needed a relationship was the tough part. She had Jason, so the emotional connection as well as the physical connection was there, but women are different. Women know what other women want, know what feels good. So in the beginning she looked for friendship. That way whatever happened she would have friends, and would not have to worry about the sexual part of it right away, focus more on the friendship.
